Bio
Dr.Tomizawa is a board certified gastroenterologist at UW Medicine's Harborview Medical Center and a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Washington. He performs advanced endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), radiofrequency ablation (RFA), endoluminal stenting, complex stricture remediation and small bowel enteroscopy. He also offers standard endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. Dr.Tomizawa specializes in early detection and endoscopic management of gastrointestinal cancers of esophagus, stomach, pancreas, bile duct and colon.
Dr.Tomizawa completed his formal GI training in Japan before moving to the U.S., with a focus on the endoscopic management of early gastrointestinal cancer. While in Japan, he had the privilege of working with some of the world leading expertise in advanced endoscopy and having trained with endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).
Dr. Tomizawa received his M.D. degree from the Tokyo Medical University. He did his residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Chicago where he also earned the degree of Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Research. He received additional specialized fellowship training in advanced endoscopy at the University of Pennsylvania where he worked with the premier advanced endoscopists in the country.

I take the time to listen to my patients, carefully understand their health issues and provide them with well-informed care.
