Temporary Childbirth Center Visitor Restrictions
Help Us Keep You Safe This Flu Season!

Because new mothers and babies are especially vulnerable to the current flu pandemic, our visiting policy will be more restrictive to ensure the safety of both patients and visitors during flu season.

All Childbirth Center or Special Care Nursery visitors will be asked to fill out a self-screening form for flu symptoms, sign the visitor log and check in with a nurse prior to entering.

Childbirth Center

  • If you have had symptoms including fever, sore throat, cough or runny nose within the past 48 hours, you will not be allowed to visit patients nor remain in the Childbirth Center waiting area. This includes family members and siblings.
  • All visitors, including children, are asked to stay in the waiting area or the patientís room. Waiting outside the patients' room or running in the hallways is not allowed.
  • Other than newborns, children are not allowed to spend the night in the Childbirth Center.

Special Care Nursery

  • No children will be allowed in the Special Care Nursery.
  • If you have had symptoms including fever, sore throat, cough or runny nose within the past 48 hours, you will not be allowed in the Special Care Nursery nor in the Childbirth Center. This includes family members.
  • No more than two visitors at a time may be by the bedside.
  • Visitors touching babies in the Special Care Nursery must complete a 3-minute hand scrub prior to entering. Visitors not touching babies must wash their hands prior to entering the Special Care Nursery, and are asked not to touch anything once they have entered.
  • No visitation is allowed in the Special Care Nursery from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.; 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and 11:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep you and our patients healthy!
