Facing cancer takes great strength and courage. It also takes an exceptional team of caregivers that provide comprehensive and compassionate care using the most advanced treatment options and research protocols.
The medical oncologist is the physician who will coordinate and act as the leader of your cancer caregiver team. While medical oncologists specialize in the use of medications such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy to treat cancer, their role is to act as your advocate throughout the course of your disease. They will work closely with you and your family to monitor the care and treatment you receive. The medical oncologists are also part of an integrated team of renowned specialists that meet weekly to discuss approaches and make recommendations on patient care.
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) offers medical oncology on the Northwest Hospital campus. SCCA Medical Oncology at Northwest Hospital is co-located with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Radiation Oncology clinic also operating on the Northwest Hospital campus. SCCA Medical Oncology at Northwest Hospital and SCCA Radiation Oncology at Northwest Hospital bring the world-class research and treatment expertise of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine and Seattle Children’s to our community.
