Dr. McInnes is a sports medicine physician and surgeon of the foot and ankle. Dr. McInnes can efficiently diagnose your problem and provide non-surgical or surgical care as needed. Dr. McInnes is an expert in treating fractures and soft tissue injuries of the foot and ankle including acute, chronic, and overuse injuries. In some situations, Dr. McInnes can help your problem with biomechanical treatments using orthotics. When non-surgical care is not helpful Dr. McInnes has extensive surgical training and two decades of experience performing reconstructive foot and ankle procedures to help you maintain an active lifestyle.

Dr. McInnes earned his bachelor’s degree from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1995 from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He completed his residency training in Seattle at the Waldo Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. Following residency Dr. McInnes completed fellowship training in Podiatric Sports Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Dr. McInnes then practiced for 12 years at Virginia Mason, first in Issaquah and then in Seattle at the Virginia Mason Sports Medicine Center. Dr. McInnes has been with The Sports Medicine Clinic at Northwest Hospital for the past 7 years.

Dr. McInnes is Board Certified in Foot & Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

Patient Care Philosophy

Dr. McInnes’ goal is to accurately and efficiently diagnose your foot and ankle condition so he can provide you with appropriate treatment recommendations that help you return to activity as quickly as possible. A large part of this process is educating patients on the nature of their problem so they understand the big picture and can work with Dr. McInnes to resolve the injury.

Surgical and non-surgical management of tendon injuries and fractures, management of overuse injuries, biomechanical treatment with custom orthoses (foot orthotics), reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
